The Stock Solution
The Stock Solution (TSS) was founded in 1978 by Royce Bair as a stock photo agency, and today it represents over 100 photographers.
TSS and its six divisions, employees 11 people, and makes its home on the second floor of the Replicolor Building in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. TSS' six divisions include the stock photo agency, Inkjet Art Solutions, Photo Mounts Products, A Photo Gallery, Victorian Traditions, and Bair Art Editions.
Up until 1984, TSS' director and owner also worked as a successful illustrative photographer for magazine and advertising. In 1990, Royce began designing a line of self-sealing transparency mounts for the stock photo agency, which came to be used by other agencies and photographers, worldwide. The Photo Products division evolved from these mount inventions. A few years later, as inexpensive personal computers, desktop scanners and high quality inkjet printers became more available, TSS saw a need to add the Inkjet Art Solutions division. Their emphasis has been on providing photo-realistic, fine art and archival solutions for artists. The staff tries to provide helpful information and advice for this rapidly changing digital environment.
Our interest in Inkjet art printing solution led us to form another division in 2000: Bair Art Editions - performing custom inkjet printing and Giclée reproductions for photographers and other artists. BAE uses four Epson desktop inkjet printers and four large-format inkjet printers to print up to 60" wide on photo glossy, photo matte, watercolor papers or even canvas - like the prints in the photo to the left for one of the LDS
Church temples.
Part of the stock photo agency's library of images includes a
collection of vintage and Victorian images, we call Victorian
Traditions. Many of these images are wholly owned by the agency. Most
have been scanned from 100-year old original chromolithographs or
original antique photographs.
