WE ARE NOW A DEALER FOR MIS ARCHIVAL INKS
The MIS Archival inks have been specially formulated for Epson desktop
printers. They are a hybrid dye based-pigmented ink which has an
extremely high degree of UV resistance and high water resistance. The
estimated archival life will exceed the Epson inks by many times when
used with archival paper. Go to:

...and check out the links to "fade test" and their "Quadtone" inks (for
monochrome or B/W printing). For a descriptive comparison of how these
inks are different from other archival inks, go to:

ARCHIVAL INKS FOR THE EPSON PHOTO 1200 AND ESC 900
Many have asked when the Lysonic, Fotonic, Luminos Platinum and Luminos
Silver inks will be available for the Epson Photo 1200 printer. Lyson
and Luminos have told us that these inks should be available sometime
between mid November and late November -- but don't hold your breath, as
they had originally given us several other earlier dates that have since
past!
However, we do have in stock the MIS Archival ink cartridges for the
Epson Stylus Photo 1200 and the Epson Stylus Color 900. The MIS
Archival inks are a dye-pigment hybrid. Pigmented inks are inherently
light-fast and resistant to chemical reactions, even with coated papers.
Our initial tests show that just by using the Epson printer driver
color "sliders" one can get about 90% color gamut of the Epson OEM inks
on some media, and up to 95% when properly profiled.
Pigmented inks do not always perform as well as dye-based inks on some
media. However, the color gamut of this inkset is surprisingly good and
is closer to the Epson OEM inks in their "right-out-of-the-box"
performance than many other "archival" type inks. This inkset is
recommended for persons who have less inkjet printing experience or who
do not want to profile their printer and inkset for each paper (via
software i.e. Monaco E-Z Color); or who do not wish to purchase custom
printer/media profiles (about $50 per media profile) -- although the use
of these profiles are recommended for best results.
Some people may be concerned that a pigmented ink will clog their print
heads. MIS Archival ink will not clog the Epson printers. The maximum
particle size in the pigments is 0.19 microns and the Epson print head
nozzles are 25 microns plus or minus 5 microns. The ink is filtered to
0.45 microns and does not cause clogging. It stays in suspension. It is
rare for an Epson print head to clog, and 99% of the so called clogs are
air/foam related problems. Since the inkset was introduced it in October
of 1998, there have been no reports of clogging.
