  • Cannot be used on Matte inkjet paper (it draws the silica out and makes your prints a milky white) This product is primarily for use on Canvas, if you're using paper, you might want to consider the Lyson Print Guard instead

DESCRIPTION:
D412 Bulldog Ultra is a solvent borne vinyl elastomer clear coat. Bulldog Ultra provides long lasting ultraviolet protection to digital imaging ink. This is a fast dry, very elastic coating that will not turn yellow, oxidize, check, crack or peel. Triangle Coatings has worked very closely with Bulldog Products (a division of Digital Pulse, Inc.) to optimize this product to protect digital canvas images. Bulldog Ultra has very high resistances to ultraviolet light. This product is manufactured to optically block 93% UV light at 0.3 mil dry film thickness (DFT), and 99% at 1 mil DFT.

TEST DATA:
Testing has been completed for Triangle Coatings' line of clear coatings by a Northern California independent testing lab. A four inch wide panel was cut from the center of 3 large vinyl prints. All the prints were printed on the same superwide printer and on the same brand of vinyl banner material. Each of the four inch images were exposed to xenon arc weatherometer (ASTM G26-93) of 720 hours (equivalent to 2 year South Florida exposure). Brand "V" ink, using their recommended UV clear, had a 60% reduction in image quality with a loss of 70% of magenta. Brand "I" ink, using their recommended UV clear coat, had a 50% reduction in image quality with a loss of 50% of magenta. Triangle Coatings' "Picture Perfect" ink using D412 Bulldog Ultra UV clear coat had a 0.03% reduction in image quality with a loss 0.03% of magenta. NOTE: Life expectancy of any inkjet print is dependent on many factors. Using D412, a user expect at least a doubling of display life outdoors. When used with ink systems that are formulated for outdoor use (i.e. pigmented inks), display life may be extended up to five times.

 * A light coating of Bulldog Ultra Gloss or Semigloss must be applied to prints or canvas (and allowed to dry) BEFORE applying the Bulldog Ultra Matte/Flat, otherwise prints may exhibit a "milky" appearance.
