|
|
Am using the top paper feed (one for epson velvet, etc.).
Constant paper jam messages; having to take paper out, try again. Usually takes 3 to 4 trys to get the paper to feed thru. No, it's not too thick, one paper is 285 gsm and the other is 315 gsm.
I'm ready to throw this printer out the window and opt for another printer.
I've searched the net for threads containing paper jams & have found a number of them & have read your article re: canvas.
How many people have the 2400 & are experiencing the same and why are we ( or I ) putting up with it?
Solutions? Help ? _________________ Dee Ross

those papers use the rear feed on the R2400, they will not work in the standard paper feeder.
GSM (grams per square meter) is a measurement of weight, not thickness - although heaver papers tend to be thicker you can have an extremely dense paper that is quite thin. _________________ Also check out my "Ask Chris" Forum_ |

have tried the rear feed; same thing happens, maybe get a few sheets thru and then constant jam messages, but nothing is jammed.
Last resort, I tried the actual sheet feeder (I know, not for heavy papers), and checked the box for thick papers.
All the papers are now feeding thru without any problems. They print just fine.
This is ludicrous as the rear path and path for Watercolor, Velvet, etc., are supposed to feed the papers through. NOT !!!
I need to try my roll canvas.
I'm of the opinion a phone call to Epson is needed. This must be happening to more people than just a rare few. _________________ Dee Ross

looking to print my own, I now order all large prints at MPIX.
But I was the principal mechanical engineer at Output Technolgy, which made printers. Paper feed was our biggest problem. Now that I am retired, I am not going to introduce that problem back into my life.
Here is what I did learn, roll feed is much easier than sheet feed. Is that the case with these printers? If so, I may consider just using roll paper. |

in response to the person who uses Mpix (I've used them also), I've finally found that the 13 x 19 paper feeds fine 98% percent of the time, it's the 8 1/2 x 11 that's difficult to work with.
I definately think roll would be much better also. _________________ Dee Ross

I am having similar problems with the feed. Using Moab Kayenta Matt for example, 205g via the top feed, 4 x 5 to 11x 17, it either does feed or feeds completely through the printer. After a couple of tries and expletives it ususally works. I have a 2200 at work which is better than this. I've tried backing etc but its like the feeding roller has something one it.
Anyone else with this problem?
