Using Custom ICC/ICM Color Profiles

inkjetart.com Custom Profiling Service

Photoshop CS2 and Canon Desktop Printers

Note: references to keyboard commands will use just the PC version, if you are on a Mac use the Command key instead of the Control Key. Also the screen captures are for the windows versions, the settings on the mac will have the same names and setting, just a different look

After opening a file, you will need to pull up the "Print With Preview screen. It's in the "File" menu. On Photoshop CS2 the default command keys are Control+Alt+P, though you can change it in Photoshop's Preferences to come up when you hit Control+P.

  1. Select "let Photoshop Determine Colors"
  2. Select the Custom profile you were sent
  3. Our profiles are optimized for "Preceptual" rendering intent with Black point Compensation enabled. You can also try Relative Colormetric to see if that gives you better results
  4. Click the "Print..." button
Select the printer you wish to use. In the screen capture we are selecting the Epson 2200, but you will likely be using a different one.

Remember when we saved our settings? here they are! Head over to the "Profiles" tab

  1. Select the setting you saved earlier
  2. Click the "Retrieve from Profiles" button

Be sure you select the right paper size and orientation after you load the settings, the settings override and sizes you had selected previously. Hit "OK" and you're ready to print.
