Quick Jet Fine Art Canvas |
|
A 17 mil cotton/polyester blend canvas with a glossy inkjet coating. This canvas produces a wide color gamut and good color saturation with both pigmented and dye-based inks. This is the only canvas we've found that will give rich color with the pigmented inks used in the Epson 2000P, 7500, 9500, and other Epson printers using MIS and Generations pigmented inks (it also works with the Roland pigmented inks).
NOTE: Pigmented inks take a longer time to dry on any canvas, including this one. With the Epson 2000P, use the "Semigloss" print driver setting, and uncheck "high-speed", so the printer will print as slow as possible. With other desktop printers using MIS or Generations inks, the use of the "Glossy Film" driver setting will reduce the amount of ink going to the canvas and slow down the printing speed to allow for greater dry time. With large-format printers, set your print heads to pause for a second or two between passes, to allow for dry time, or you may see some "puddling" together of ink droplets.
This canvas is not compatible with the Epson 2200 printer, visit our canvas page for ones that are. (although the same ink in the 7600 and 9600 works great! - see the profiles below).
The reason it does not work is the new rollers used for borderless printing - the larger professional printers like the 7600 and 9600 do not have these rollers. Pigmented inks never completely bond to this sort of media (which is why we recommend a spray coating below) and there is such a short time between the printing of the ink and its encounter with the rollers - it lifts completely off onto the rollers. It might be possible to remove the rollers on the 2200, but it will definitely void your warranty and looks to be extremely difficult (we have never even attempted it so don't ask for directions or support in this endeavor).
Top Coating: All canvas prints should be sprayed with a protective top coat, after they've had a chance to thoroughly dry. |
