Epson C80 and Epson 2000P print quality comparisons
using uncoated paper and shown at 4X

Both of these images were printed on Somerset Velvet, a popular uncoated fine art paper, using each printer's highest quality settings for "Plain Paper" media. The 2000P's extra two inks (light magenta and light cyan) hinder the printing quality by laying down more ink than the paper can handle, causing substantial dot gain and dot clumping (dots bleeding together to produce larger dots). The C80 output on the other hand is very clean - nearly equal to what the 2000P can do on the coated, Somerset Photo Enhanced. (This enlargement is about what these prints would look like if your eyes can focus on the print at a distance of about 6 inches).
