Inkjet Art Solutions began as an offshoot of The Stock Solution around 1998. The Stock Solution owned several Epson inkjet printers (notably the Pro XL and Photo 700) and used them to print thumbnail sheets of their stock photography. We noted that many photographers were starting to print their pictures on Inkjet Printers and also noted how quickly the standard Epson inks and paper would fade. In late 1998 we started bringing in several different types of uncoated watercolor papers like the Somerset Velvet and Arches. Lyson released their Lyson E inkset for the four color Epson printers around that same time and people were finally able to achieve the same longevity and output you could get with a IRIS printer, but in your own studio.
Until November 1999 we only had a limited web site functioning mainly as a brochure for Photo Mounts and some inkjet products. Our web site kicked into high gear with secure ordering after the webmaster was assigned to answer the phone and take orders. Our first web order came in on Dec 7, 1999 for a sample of 770-HGC paper. Since that time we have changed E-Commerce servers a few times and moved to automated invoicing systems for web orders. In August of 2007 we outgrew our location and moved to our current building in West Jordan, Utah. For a bit of fun, you can use the Internet Wayback Machine to see how our site has looked over the years - at first we were just a subpage of tssphoto.com (see here) but we moved over to our own domain in 2000 (see here).
