The R1800 does not work with Mac OS9 (it does work with OSX, Win XP, 98 and ME)

You will probably want to get a USB cable unless you have firewire on your computer, the printer comes with a 6 foot firewire cable, you can also get extra ink. I would also recommend a trip to the sample packs page.
